What It Is
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) are a special group of transmission that can shift seamslessly through its range, in contrast to the abrubt changes of gears of regular tranmissions.
The Parise CTT is revolutionary CVT transmission, under development in Florianopolis, south Brazil. It is patented in nearly 20 countries, including US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, Europe and Russia, covering over 85% of the automotive production.
The Technology
Although the early concepts date as back as the 1800s, CVTs never made it too far: its generally low efficiency and high complexity outweights its advantages for most applications. Nowadays CVTs can only be found in scooter and a very few inovative cars model.
The Parise CTT is a new CVT design that challenges this assumption. It was first idealized in 2009 by Luis André Parise and has been in developent since then. The CTT has already been prototyped for a conventional and an electric bycicle as well as a plug-and-play replacement for an internal combustion scooter.
Results
Although the tecnology is still on an early stage, it outperforms most of the current CVT technologies. Its efficiency has been teste in a bench at the Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina (IFSC) and presented a peak efficiency over 90%, quite unusual for a CVT.
Who We Are
Luis André Parise worked as a wood craftsman in the paradisiac island of Florianopolis in south Brazil when idealized the CTT concept in 2009. He is the main inventor and the resposible of the prototyping, which he does with the same passion and care that he used to build wooden vessels.
Riccardo Parise is a mechanical engineer from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the institute of Vehicular Concepts. He is working in the project since 2017 in the development and simulations of the CTT design and testing.
Partners
We are always looking for new partners and possible applications for the Parise CTT. Contact us for any inquire or to know more about our technology.
